Pins, scissors, pinking shears, wire cutters, water-soluble marking pen or tailor’s chalk, sewing machine foot with bottom groove to accommodate stitching over wire
* For best results, use wool or wool-blend felt. For variegated felt rose,
as shown at right, brush petal edges with watered-down acrylic paint.
** Suitable fabrics include quilting-weight cotton, light-weight decorator fabric, and other light- to medium-weight woven fabrics, such as silk dupioni, or light-weight linen. Allow more fabric if matching stripes or patterns.
